Extensive Experience in Criminal Law – John has been practicing criminal law for several years and has resolved hundreds of criminal cases, including infractions, misdemeanors and felonies.
Quick resolution – After the District Attorney’s Office files a complaint against an individual, the case is placed on the court’s calender for arraignment. At the arraignment, a plea of not guilty is typically entered by the charged individual and the next court date is set. If the individual is charged with a misdemeanor, the case can resolve normally within around two months after arraignment. This assumes the case does not go to trial – most misdemeanor cases settle and do not go to trial. Many case’s resolutions are unnecessary delayed by months through no fault of the charged individual or even the District Attorney’s Office (i.e., the prosecuting agency). Our approach is to ensure a speedy resolution while not sacrificing thorough representation.
Trial experience – Should your criminal case not settle, John has extensive experience representing clients in over a 100 court trials
Local presence – In criminal matters in particular, it is important that the client actually meet their attorney. Should the case settle, the client and attorney will need to go over and sign several court documents together. The attorney and client should also appear together in court for case resolution. Many criminal attorneys practice throughout the state and never actually meet their clients. Our offices are based throughout the Central Coast area and we make it a practice of meeting all clients face to face.
Lower Fees – There is a large range of fees charged for criminal cases. Many attorneys charge more based on the number of years of experience they have. Our philosophy is that the more experience the attorney has with the charges brought against you, the less time and expense the attorney needs to spend figuring out how to best resolve your case. All cases are unique, but they share many common elements. These time and expense savings are passed onto the client in terms of lower fees.
